Why leave the central bay
The bay of Essaouira is perfect for learning, but a surf trip allows you to discover another wave energy. Sidi Kaouki often offers more space, a wild beach and more regular series. Imsouane gives a long wave, ideal for working on the trajectory and understanding the placement on a real straight line.
The trip is not just transportation to a pretty beach. The guide chooses the spot according to the swell, the wind, the tide and the level of the group. It is this choice that makes the day quality: going to the right place, at the right time, with the right equipment.
- Round trip transport from Essaouira.
- Board and wetsuit included according to the formula.
- Local guide to choose the area and read the conditions.
- Half-day or full-day format depending on destination.

A beginner can enjoy a surf trip if the conditions are mild and the group remains supervised. For a more committed day, we require a more independent level: knowing how to row, get up, leave the impact zone and return to the edge without permanent assistance.
We keep a weather margin. If the planned spot does not work, the team can change destination or offer another activity. The goal is not to check off a destination, but to find the best session of the day.
What we prepare before leaving
The day before or the same morning, we check the swell, the period, the wind, the tide and the level of the group. Only then do we confirm the destination. For Sidi Kaouki, half a day can be enough if the waves are clean. For Imsouane, we plan a full day: the journey is longer, but the wave is worth taking the time.
The vehicle leaves with suitable boards, wetsuits, water and useful information about the spot. If the group contains several levels, we choose boards that allow us to maximize the number of waves taken rather than looking for equipment that is too technical.
- Swell and wind forecast checked before departure.
- Board adapted to the level, not just to the desire.
- Wetsuit and leash included according to the formula.
- Adjustable program if the weather changes.
After the trip
A good surf trip should give you more than a beautiful photo: a better understanding of Moroccan spots. On the way back, we debrief the waves taken, the placement errors, the priorities to work on and the spots to avoid depending on your level. This is what turns an excursion into real progress.
If you stay several days in Essaouira, this debrief is also used to decide what happens next: repeat a lesson in the bay, return to Sidi Kaouki, wait for better swell for Imsouane or keep a rest day. The program remains alive, based on the sea rather than on a promise written too early.

FAQ
From what age can you learn to surf?+
Children can start around 6 or 7 years old depending on comfort in the water, weather and session duration. Families can reserve a dedicated format.
Do you have to be athletic to take a class?+
A normal condition is enough to start. The instructor adapts the board, the spot, the warm-up and the duration to your level.
Are boards and wetsuits included?+
Yes. Board, wetsuit, leash and wax are included in the lessons.
Can you combine surfing and kitesurfing?+
Yes, it’s even very logical in Essaouira. We hold the surf on the swell windows and the kite on the windy days.
